This has got to be the best Christy Moore album in a long time, despite the fact it never really gets out of third gear its an effortless masterclass of all thats great about this Kildare icon who over the years has mellowed and moved to a place as he once sung about where the "music keeps your spirits high",indeed he seems to live in and caress the songs he sings the amazing reworking of Pink Floyds "shine on you crazy diamond"is sure to become a classic along with the addictive "does this train stop in mersey side" and the haunting "The Disappeared "(Los Desaparecidos)which sounds like a sequal to the much earlier El Salvador.

we are also treated to a reworking of "riding the high stoll" still complete with the bould "titch marr"and a rebirth of the 1992 Sodom and Begorra into one kildare mans homage to another in the "Ballad of Ruby Walsh"
years ago i predicted that "him and his poetary" should be included in the leaving cert after all the man is Ireland greatest musical treasure a true musical laureate.
