So finally after a year of speculation, the "great" Ronaldo has finally departed for the sunnier climbs of Madrid, joining a league that finds diving and temeper tantrums acceptable.....he should realy excel because of this! Although a clearly brilliant player is he really worth 80 million? Breaking records set by Zidane and Kaka only last week....or is this partly a case of the Beckham factor where image seems to up the price also is it even right that a club should be able to offer this sum for one player? Is it time to cap transfer fees like they have done in American Football and cap wages also.......Thoughts?

Yeah i really think its time to cap wages and fees its getting out of control now and how can anyone really justify paying someone who palys football 150,000 a week? He is earning at least treble the amount of Barrack Obama for gods sake and hes got a bit more responsibility than just helping a team win a champions league! Im really glad Ronaldos gone aswell although you cannot deny his talents he would not be the player he is without the guidance of Sir Alex and i dont think he ever showed him the appreciation he deserves, his attitude in general was terrible and United epitomise a team effort; players work on the pitch and for the place on the team, Ronaldo just seemed to think he had a right to be there and strolled around the pitch complaining to the refs and throwing tantrums - not a typical United player, time for him to move on and for United to buy in some new talent and win more trophies!

if the spanairds are stupid enough to shellou tall that cash for a showman then good luck to them. They could have bought 3 or 4 good players for that money...fellas who will give a full 90 minutes of team effort every game.
commercially though he is exactly what they need...another icon who will sell t-shirts produced in cheap shops for sale for megabucks. That is why I am perfectly happy to buy the
