Is Venice smelly I hear that the canals in Venice can be very smelly at certian times of year. Can anyone tell me when to visit Venice is smelly.

Hi. Probably the worst is during the summer hot time, but i was in May, it was very hot and it was grand- no smell:)

it depends most of all from the sea, whn the water is high it doesn't semll, but usually at the end of august and sometimes also in january the water is very low, it's sems in certains channels that there's no water and in that case smell could be very bad!!!
